New 20MW biomass systems in Fukushima

German biomass system manufacturer Entrade Energiesysteme’s Japanese small-scale combined heat and power (CHP) projects will begin operations next month. Entrade is developing 400 small-scale biomass-fired CHP systems in Fukushima prefecture with a combined capacity of 20MW. The project is 50km from utility Tepco's Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant, where a 2011 earthquake and tsunami triggered a nuclear disaster.
