Eu pellet imports up 39pc in 2013

European wood pellet imports rose to 6.04mn last year,up by 39pc from the previous year.Transatlantic trade satisfied most of the increase in demand,with the US and Canada increasing their market share. Imports by EU countries for the first 11 months of last year increased by around 45pc from 2012,according to data from EU statistics body Eurostat.But December imports fell by around 7pc year on year,restricting the full-year increase.
