UK industrial pellet demand is set to reach almost 350,000t in April,the highest monthly figure since July last year.And consumption is likely to climb to some 525,000t in May, around 33pc higher than the previous monthly record,with UK generator Drax scheduled to start burning biomass in another 645MW unit from next week. Drax’s unit 2 was set to fall only a fraction short of a 100pc load factor in April,as it did in March,according to data supplied by Drax to the UK’s power grid operator.That would put biomass consumption for the month at just under 250,000t,given the unit’s 39pc efficiency rate.
