French premium pellet production and consumption increased last year, according to wood pellet association ProPellet France. Premium pellet consumption rose by 4pc to around 900,000-950,000t in 2014, up from 2013’s total of 890,000t, ProPellet director Eric Vial told Argus. Predictions for 2015 consumption are difficult to make because consumption is dependent on whether there is a third warm winter in a row, Vial said. “Climate has a huge impact on sales of heating equipment and pellets,” he said.
