Atlantic Basin Industrial: Dollar price slips

The 90-day spot price for wood pellets delivered into the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) fell significantly in the week, pressured by falling handysize offers and competition from Russian producers. The cif ARA index lost $1.15/t to rest at $113.58/t. North American handysize offers were heard to have moved to around $112-113/t cif ARA for spot delivery, in order to try and attract some of the emerging European utility spot demand. A $112/t offer was equivalent to ?105-106/t cif ARA, below European offers.
