Ambulatory cardiac monitoring poses challenges in infants because of their small thoraxes and lack of cooperation. Alternative recording positions that avoid electrode dislodgement are desirable, provided that satisfactory electrocardiography (ECG) signals can be recorded. The Carnation Ambulatory Monitor (CAM; BardyDx, Bellevue, Washington), a single 6- by 1.5-inch hourglass-shaped patch, single-vector ECG monitor, is effective in adults (1,2). We prospectively studied the feasibility of these devices in small children and explored alternative monitor positions.
