Heat generated from biomass and paid for under the non-residential section of the UK’s renewable heat incentive (RHI)totalled almost 121,000MWh last month.Although some 53,000MWh less than June generation,it was still more than four times as much as in July last year,according to the latest data from the Department of Energy and Climate Change. Assuming fuel efficiency of 85pc,the generation figures indicated biomass consumption equivalent to 217,000t of wood pellets for the first seven months of the year,com-pared with 138,000t for the whole of 2013.
