The spot price for wood pellets in the Amsterdam-Rotter-dam-Antwerp(ARA)region dipped$0.11/t on last week’s assessment after steadily climbing since the end of May. Buying interest in the 90-day window was scant as Septem-ber volumes, expected to be offered above$185/t,were readied for the market. A cargo scheduled for July delivery, offered last week at around$180/t,was bound for storage after failing to find a home. The owner preferred to wait for firmer prices later in the year–when demand could increase on the back of the resolution of regulatory issues,as well as seasonal consump-tion rates–than to attempt to sell into a relatively weak summer market.
