uk Eco2 biomass project nears completion

Construction of UK firm Eco2’s 38MW straw-fired Sleaford plant is nearing completion,with the handover to BNP Pari-bas Clean Energy Partners scheduled to take place in sum-mer. “The Sleaford plant will become fully operational in July,”Eco2 said.Eco2 will oversee operation of the plant un-der a management services contract following the handover. Ground works have also started at the site of Eco2’s 40MW straw-fired Brigg plant.Full civil works will begin shortly and the plant is due to start up by spring 2016.Eco2 sold its Brigg project to a Danish consortium for￡160mn last year.The consortium will be in charge of operating and main-taining the plant.
