Fob Vietnam: Spot price slides

Fob Vietnam spot wood pellet prices slipped 19￠/t to $92/t in the week as a recently concluded tender from EWP closed lower, but supply to Japanese traders held slightly firmer prices. South Korean state-controlled utility EWP completed its 40,000t tender for September to November delivery at around $108/t duty delivery paid (ddp) Dangjin, traders said. That nets back to about $88-89/t fob Vietnam after deduction of freight and trucking fees totalling $19-20/t. The tender was awarded solely to one large South Korean trading company which will source most of its supply from Vietnam, traders said.
