Chinese prime minister Wen Jiabao called for the country to improve energy pricing at this year's national people's congress on 5 March. The proposed changes aim to create a tighter link between energy prices and fuel costs. But any changes to electricity pricing are likely to be incremental, rather than a dramatic break with regulated pricing.
