Mombasa mayhem

Mombasa, Kenya's largest port, is battling to free up storage space and get cargo moving again, as disruption following the Christmas/new year holidays and the disputed election of December 27, take hold. Severe civil unrest since the country's general election has meant that stevedoring gangs in the port have been undersized and the port's normal three shift system in the container terminal curtailed as dockers have been unable to travel to/from work.
