E-manifest is law for US truck shipments

Effective February 11, 2008, truck carriers importing goods overland into the US will be required to submit cargo manifests electronically to US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) at all 99 of the country's land border crossing points. The mandatory submission of e-manifests, providing the detailed cargo and carrier information required by CBP prior to the truck's arrival in the US, has been rolled out on a gradual basis over the past year.
