Brazilians benefit from discounts

Three cabotage and coastal carriers operating in Brazil are happy with the decision, by the Port Authority Council (CAP) for Santos, to extend the reduced tariffs for cabotage and transhipment cargoes handled at the port until June 30, 2008. Alianca Navegacao (part of Hamburg Sud), Mercosul Line (owned by Maersk Line) and the Brazilian flag carrier Log-In Logistica, which move the majority of coastal and feeder cargo over Santos, benefit from a discount on the normal container rates.
