Metal futures: Markets mixed on dollar, PMIs

Base metal prices on the London Metal Exchange (LME) were mixed in official trading, as the dollar edged higher against other currencies and data showing slowing growth in both China and the US was released. China's official manufacturing purchasing manager's index fell to 50.4 in July from 50.9 in June, data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed, falling below analyst's expectations of a reading around 50.8 but remaining above the growth threshold of 50.
