China: Terbium at near nine-year high

The terbium market maintained its upward track, hitting a near nine-year high on continued supply cuts and firmer domestic demand. Dysprosium prices rose to their highest level since October 2013, supported by restocking demand from downstream buyers and a sustained shortage of spot supplies. Market participants expect the Chinese state reserve bureau's launch of a second round of national stockpile purchases, likely this month, to tighten spot supplies and provide further upside potential, particularly for terbium and dysprosium.
