Strong local knowledge and modern IT systems as well as the ability to offer one-stop-shop solutions are the major reasons why Kerry EAS Logistics has clinched significant freight transport contracts with Samsung and Sony (see panel) in China. The freight forwarder - a division of Hong Kong-headquartered Kerry Logistics - began its co-operation with Samsung more than 10 years ago. In 1998, the company assumed responsibility for the outbound movement of the electronics company's televisions from its factory based in Tianjin.
