US trades start 2010 with healthy figures

Prospects for the North American container trades continue to improve, as rising consumer spending draws in more imports and the export boom of the fourth quarter continues into 2010. Box liftings through the region's ports recovered strongly in the first quarter (see 'North American ports steam ahead,' p13) and this growth seems set to continue.
