ACL set to build mega con-ro vessels

Grimaldi-owned Atlantic Container Line (ACL) has struck a deal with the Chinese state-owned company Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding to build the five 'largest ro-ro/ containerships (CONROs) in the world', doubling the box capacity of the company's current vessels. The new G4 ships (generation 4) will replace the company's existing fleet of G3 vessels when they are delivered throughout 2015. The existing vessels will be scrapped or sold to the US military.
