RVR spending to upgrade African system

Rift Valley Railways (RVR) is spending heavily on repairing and upgrading the track of the Kenya/ Uganda rail system so that faster trains and more freight can be carried. But critics of the company say that its investment is 'too little too late'. The current focus of the capital expenditure programme is to replace worn-out rails/sleepers on the main 70km plus section of the railroad between Nairobi and the country's principal port, Mombasa.
