Asians court Terminal Link

China Merchants Holdings International (CMHI) is one of at least two Asian buyers reportedly interested in acquiring a minority stake in CMA CGM's ports' portfolio, Terminal Link. With debts of USD5 billion, CMA CGM is under pressure from its banks to raise cash by disposing of assets, and has said that it is prepared to sell up to 49% of Terminal Link, which has port interests around the world. It put part of Terminal Link up for sale earlier this year. Its cruise arm, La Compagnie du Ponant, was bought by a private equity firm in early July 2012.
