CMA CGM adds ships to Asia/ W. Africa route

The CMA CGM group has upped its operating presence in the Asia-West Africa trade by becoming a vessel provider in the FEW 3 service operated by Maersk Line and Safmarine. Previously, the French carrier had only purchased slots on the other carriers' vessels. The move reflects the consolidation that has been taking place in this trade over the past 12-18 months and the needs of carriers to improve utilisation levels on the very big ships introduced over the same period.
