At a global level, based upon trade data available in mid- November 2012 (including from the US, China and Brazil), MDS Transmodal (MDS T) estimates that total underlying maritime container volumes grew by 6% in the first nine months of 2012 as compared with 2011. This corresponds to the growth now reported by Maersk Line for its own traffic for the same period.
