MSC hails direct Haifa call

In mid-November the 8.040TEU MSCMaeva became the Geneva-headquartered ocean carrier's first direct Haifa (13-day transit) call on its newly-launched Golden Gate pendulum service to the US east coast via the Suez Canal. An exchange of 1,600 containers -1,200 import and 400 export-at an average rate of 191 boxes per hour was witnessed by senior global MSC executives including, Far East trade director Caroline Becquart.
