Box weighing proposals hit setback

The Dutch government has reversed its support for the mandatory weighing of containers in another setback for proposals set for discussion at the International Maritime Organization in September.The Dutch Minister of Infrastructure and Environment, Schultz van Haegen, announced that the government no longer supported calls for mandatory weighing of containers prior to vessel loading, following opposition from within parliament.
