K Line joins the ultra-large boxship club

Japanese shipping giant Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha has confirmed it will become the latest to join the ultra-large container vessel club after signing a letter of intent to build five 14,000 teu vessels at Imabari Shipbuilding. As Containerisation International previously reported, the carrier's move has been anticipated for some time as its alliance members Cosco Container Lines, Yang Ming Marine Transport and Hanjin Shipping all deploy or have ordered giant boxships.
