Re: Gallbladder Cancer: The Role of Laparoscopy and Radical Resection

We read with interest the article by Shih et al published in the June 2007 issue. Gallbladder cancer remains one of the last frontiers for oncologic surgery, and this retrospective series is without any doubt one of the largest to date on surgery for gallbladder cancer. The authors made a commendable effort in analyzing the records of 107 patients over a decade, managed at John Hopkins Hospital. However, some conclusions drawn by the authors have been some-what inadequately demonstrated to be accepted convincingly by the readers.
