Gallbladder cancer: the role of laparoscopy and radical resection.

We read with great interest the article by Shih et al1 in which they concluded that patients discovered with gallbladder carcinoma (GBC) during a laparo-scopic cholecystectomy do not need to be converted immediately to open resection and should be referred to a tertiary care center for further exploration after completing cholecystectomy.
