SomaDetect backed by Cavallo Ventures as it expands technology on farms, builds on data

Cavallo Ventures has invested an undisclosed amount in Canadian dairy health technology firm SomaDetect. New Brunswick-based SomaDetect has developed an in-line milking system for dairy cows to measure fat and protein content, somatic cell count, progesterone and antibiotic residual. The technology uses real-time artificial intelligence analytics and has been built to integrate with farmers' existing milking equipment. The technology is designed to indicate health status and enable any milk taken foranalysis to be returned to the milking line where appropriate.
