FINANCIAL NEWS. Jan-Sep 2008. BMW reported a further and sharper drop in earnings for Q3-08, having warned in the previous quarter that worsening conditions meant its fullyear profit targets would be missed. Group revenue fell 8.6% to {EUR}12.6bn in Q3-08. Over the first nine months, revenue was virtually unchanged at {EUR}40.4bn. At constant exchange rates the nine-month increase would have been 5.1%. Third-quarter group operating profit fell by 60%, brought down by increased purchased material costs, adverse exchange rates and increased risk provisions.
