FINANCIAL NEWS. Jan-Jun 2008. GM reported a net loss of US$(15.5)bn in Q2-08. Non-recurring charges accounted for US$9.1bn but the recurring loss was still a substantial US$(6.04)bn due almost entirely to the dire performance of the North American operations, both automotive and financial. Group revenue was US$38.2bn, down 18% from US$46.7bn, primarily due to lower automotive revenue from the Nafta region. Automotive revenue outside the Nafta region was up by 9%.
