FINANCIAL NEWS. Year to Mar 2008. Suzuki reported a record net profit for 2007/08, its seventh year of increase. Revenue increased by 10.7% to ￥3,502bn. Operating profit rose 12.4% to ￥149.4bn and the operating margin edged up by 0.1 of a percentage point to 4.3%. This is an indication of how difficult it is to make money from (predominantly) small cars - although this was a record-breaking performance by Suzuki, rivals such as Honda, Nissan and Toyota reported margins of 7.7%, 7.4% and 9.3% respectively.
