FINANCIAL NEWS. Apr-Sep 2007. Mazda reported a decline in operating profit in the three months to December 2007 bringing the increase over the first nine months to just 1.1% at ￥108.4bn. The operating margin slipped by 0.4pts to 4.3%. The net improvement of ￥1.1bn reflects: ￥31.2bn - exchange rate changes; ￥9.2bn - cost reductions; ￥1.0bn - volume & mix; ￥(7.9)bn - product enhancements; ￥(6.2)bn - marketing expense; ￥(26.2)bn - other.
