FINANCIAL NEWS. Apr-Dec 2007. Nissan reported a 16% rise in operating profit for its fiscal third quarter, conforming to its forecast of a stronger second half in the 2007/08 fiscal year. Over the first nine months group revenue increased by 13.9% to ￥7,835bn as the contributions from all major regions increased. Operating profit rose by 8.9% to ￥579.1bn, a margin of 7.4% compared with 7.7% a year earlier. In the third quarter alone, the margin was 7.7% compared with 7.9% a year earlier. Increased tax expense and higher non-recurring losses meant that net profit dropped by 9.0% to ￥344.6bn In geographic terms operating profit rose by 4.4% in Japan and by 0.7% in Nafta, 61% in Europe and 37% in the rest of the world.
