'Zhe Hai 522' was designed by Shanghai Bestway and built by China's Zhejiang Wuzhou Shipyard (part of the Zhejiang Group) for China-based owner/operator Zhejiang Shipping. With an overall length of 189.9 metres on a 32.26-metre beam, 'Zhe Hai 522' has a depth of 17.6 metres and a draught of eleven metres. The CCS-classified, steel vessel has a deadweight calculated at 54,500 tonnes with a gross tonnage of 31,320GT and a net tonnage of 18,717NT. The vessel is powered by a single MAN B&W 6S50MC-C main engine rated at 8,532kW at 122.6rpm driving a single four-bladed propeller. The vessel has a maximum speed of 16 knots and a range of 18,000 nautical miles.
