Hapag Lloyd ventures into Northwest Passage

This August, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises' four and five star expedition ships, 'Bremen' and 'Hanseatic' will traverse one of the world's most historic and unexplored sea routes, the Northwest Passage. The two vessels will sail in opposite directions and meet in the heart of the Canadian Arctic. According to The Cruise People, one possible meeting point could be Cambridge Bay on Victoria Island. In order to reach this point, the four-star 'Bremen' will sail from Kangerlussuaq, Greenland while the five-star 'Hanseatic' will set off from Nome, Alaska. The 'Hanseatic' has an ice-class of the highest category and is ranked the world's top expedition ship by the 2009 Berlitz Guide to Cruising and Cruise Ships. The vessel has a maximum passenger capacity of 184 people. 'Bremen' can host 164 people.
