'Northern Expedition', built by Germany's Flensburger for Canada's BC Ferries was launched from the building berth in Flensburg in late 2008, prior to its January 30, 2009 departure for Canada, the voyage from Europe to Canada via the Panama Canal taking more than a month. The new 150-metre ship accommodates 130 vehicles and 600 passengers. Among its many features, 'Northern Expedition' offers 55 modern cabins for customers and an expanded range of food services and other amenities to delight local residents and tourists alike.
