Compact stow-away gangway from Brude Safety

A new type of aluminium gangway has been launched by Norway-based Brude Safety. The extremely compact design allows it to be integrated into the door, taking virtually no space. The Brude gangway system consists of a complete and highly effective gangway, a coaming, a mounted door with telescopic gangway, a hydraulic unit (HPU), a control panel and, finally, side railings, which come up automatically when the gangway is extended. The unit, which is powered by means of the onboard 230volt system, is manually controlled through valves placed in vicinity of the gangway. In locked position, the door fits tightly against a rubber gasket in the coaming. The door itself, which is of steel and hinged to the coaming, is stiffened and made as strong as the ship's side.
