Tianjin Port invests US$1.87 billion in port construction

Tianjin Port plans to construct 83 projects, of which eight key projects have only just commenced construction. However, 13 projects are set for completion this year; these include the Dongjiang port area infrastructure construction; the north Weinian project; and the international cruise terminal project, of which one part was completed in September 2008. The main plaza will be completed by the end of this year. Furthermore, the financial and trade service area "Phase I" and Sea Rail Road have both commenced construction, as has the Nanjiang No. 26 specialised ore terminal and the Shenhua Coal Terminal Phase II.
