Two more Samsung built LNG carriers for Golar

Golar LNG has acquired firm contracts to build two additional 160,000m3 LNG carriers with Samsung Heavy Industries, on top of the four ordered recently. The two latest vessels are due for delivery in 2013/14 at a total cost of approximately US$400 million. In addition to the confirmed vessels, Golar has fixed priced options to add further capacity. Golar has the possibility to include ice strengthening and winterisation of the ships as well as regasification equipment. In addition to the announced newbuilding programme, Golar is in final discussions regarding firm commitments for construction of multiple FSRU carriers.
