Zoetis and Elanco received approvals for companion animal and livestock products in the US during December.The US FDA handed Zoetis a supplement for Simparica Trio, which allows for the addition of the indications: for the prevention of Borrelia burgdorferi infections as a direct result of killing Ixodes scapularis vector ticks; and for the treatment and control of L4 and immature adult Ancylostoma caninum.Glenn David - Zoetis group president for international operations, aquaculture, biodevices andpet insurance -recently told IHS Markit Animal Health sales of its Simparica brand are excelling in places like Brazil and Russia on top of good companion animal market growth in the US and Europe, while the firm’s pet products are also prospering in Chile.
