摘要

A $6.2 billion contract aimed at fixing military families' long-standing problems with household goods shipments has been awarded to Houston-based HomeSafe Alliance, but two unsuccessful bidders have filed protests. U.S. Transportation Command officials said protests of the award were filed Nov. 23 with the U.S. Government Accountability Office by American Roll-On Roll-Off Carrier Group and Connected Global Solutions. If it stands, the HomeSafe contract, announced Nov. 4, will outsource the management of relocation services now being performed by the government. While the command will oversee the program, the contractor will pull together a network of moving companies and coordinate military moves and warehouse services from start to finish. The contractor will be fully responsible for these moves, bringing accountability to the program.
