Brunei: Section 3 - Force Structures

Brunei's armed forces consist of around 7,000 active personnel. Brunei maintains an all-professional military. All military personnel are volunteers; there is no conscription. The Reserve force totals about 700, all of whom are in the Army. The British garrison maintains roughly 500 troops in Brunei to protect the sultanate's oil facilities. This deployment includes one Gurkha battalion, a training unit, and one helicopter unit with three helicopters.
