The availability of standard capro grade amsul for June shipment is limited in China due to reduced operating rates and maintenance/technical issues at several plants. Producers are offering standard product at $116-117/t fob for June, with smaller cargoes available at $115/t fob. Weak demand and low prices for caprolactam might see reduced operating rates persist into July, and producers will be inclined to bring forward turnarounds scheduled for later in the year. However, stronger demand from Brazil might be required to keep prices firm.
