On many occasions, the presence of foreign bodies in the urethra or the bladder is due to sexual practices, although it may be the result of the migration of objects from other body locations, such as hernioplasty meshes, intrauterine devices, etc. (Martinez-Vails et al., 2008). In our milieu, it is arelatively frequent reason for a visit to the emergency department after the inability of the patient to extract the foreign body, above all when the problem is due to either sexual practices performed with a partner or to masturbatory methods (Briones Mardones et al., 2001).
