The US Energy Information Administration has revised its US crude production estimate for 2014 and 2015, forecasting output at 8.46MM b/d and 9.28MM b/d, respectively, in its monthly Short-Term Energy Outlook. In the previous report, the EIA has estimated 2014 production at 8.42MM b/d and 2015 at 9.27MM b/d. As a result of the increased volumes, total oil imports by the end of 2015 are expected to come to only about 4MM b/d, or about 22 of consumption. Total liquids production including NGLs was also revised upwards, with volumes now estimated at 13.63MM b/d in 2014 and 14.6MM b/d in 2015, up from previous forecasts of 13.52MM b/d and 14.51MM b/d. "Our projections for natural gas liquids have been rising steadily this year because plants are getting better at separating them and demand has grown," said EIA economist Tancred Lidderdale.
