API keeps pressure on EPA over ethanol mandate.

The American Petroleum Institute (API) is continuing to lobby the US the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as it looks to get the ethanol blending mandate under the 2014 Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) reduced as the EPA has yet to finalize the final blending mandates under the 2014 RFS. API director Bob Greco did note that with midterm elections coming up in Nov. any legislative action relating to a change in the ethanol blending mandate under the 2014 RFS would need to occur quickly. "I think we have a narrow, closing window to do anything this year. So that's why I think at least from API's perspective, so much of our focus right now is on better understanding where's EPA's going and trying to influence the regulatory decision."
