Artefacts belonging to medical pioneersjohn Hunter and Edward Jennercan be seen in a new permanent exhibition at St George's medical school, Tooting, London. They include the couch (being used here by students David Rawaf and Michelle Penn) on which Hunter is believed to have died of a heart attack during an argument overthe admission of two medical students to St George's in 1793, as well as the surgeon's shaving mirror, spectacles, and medical books. The hide of the cow, called Blossom, used byjenner to develop his smallpox vaccine in 1796, is also part of the display in the hospital's foyer.
