These observations are not exhaustive, but they raise serious questions about what is being taught and who is minding the teaching of content. The situation with respect to research is equally dismal. Although nurses are first-line professionals in situations where seclusion and restraint are employed, aggression and violence management programs have not been developed or evaluated by nurses but by business organizations.
