Toray Develops Flexible Polyamide 6 With Added Strength

Toray Industries Inc. (TYO:3402) has developed a new polyamide 6 (PA6) that is flexible yet tough. Prospective areas for marketing include sports, the automotive sector and other such applications requiring both durability and bendability. The new resin was developed with the use of Toray’s proprietary Nanoalloy microstructure control technology, which allows for polymers to be finely dispersed on the nanometer level.
